MAT GRANTS

We believe a yoga mat can change a life.

Our Mat Grants Program provides certified yoga teachers and therapists with supplies to kickstart yoga outreach projects. We supply and ship free mats to support projects that focus on:

ACCESSIBILITY
Offer yoga to individuals who might otherwise never have the opportunity to practice

EQUITY
Challenge inequities and expand access to health promoting practices, especially in communities that have faced systemic oppression

HEALTH
Share the transformational benefits of yoga with populations that face physical and mental illness

Want to create a long-term impact in a community facing hardship

WHO CAN APPLY

BEFORE YOU APPLY FOR A MAT GRANT, MAKE SURE YOU MEET THESE CRITERIA:

Certified Yoga Teacher or Therapist: In order to apply, you must have completed a 200+ hour yoga teacher training or your yoga therapist certification.

Permanent Shipping Address: At this time, we are only able to ship mats within the US and Canada. Please note, we cannot ship to a non-permanent address and we are unable to ship mats to Puerto Rico or P.O. Boxes.

Yoga Service Project: The mats must be used for a service project; that is, they cannot be used for a for-profit venture such as a conference, festival, or teacher training.

  • The Give Back Yoga Foundation is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and your donation is tax-deductible to the full extent permitted by law. Our Federal Tax ID Number is 20-8666751 and our VACT Vendor Number is 37348. We will send you an e-receipt for your records, which you can use to claim a tax deduction for your donation. For further questions regarding the tax or legal aspects of your donation, we recommend that you contact your legal or tax adviser.

  • If you have made your donation online, you should receive an automated confirmation email containing all the necessary details within minutes of having made it. This email serves as your receipt. 

    Tax receipts for donations made by alternative means (e.g., checks sent in the mail) are sent quarterly. If you do not receive your receipt within six months of mailing your donation, please contact us at info@givebackyoga.org.

  • To make an offline donation, mail a check or money order payable to The Give Back Yoga Foundation to: The Give Back Yoga Foundation, 900 Baseline Road, Cottage 13B, Boulder, CO 80302. Make a note on the memo line if you would like your contribution to support a specific Give Back Yoga program or campaign.

  • Yes, we gratefully accept donations of any amount as gifts or made in honor (or in memory) of friends, family, yoga teachers, and other loved ones. To make a donation as a gift or in someone’s honor or memory, check the box, “Dedicate my donation in honor or in memory of someone,” and complete the relevant fields.

  • If you like, yes! You can choose to send a notification email to the person in whose honor (or a friend/relative of the person in whose memory) you are donating. Simply enter the recipient’s name, email, and write your message to them. We’ll do the rest!

  • Yes; a planned gift can be a powerful way to support the legacy of The Give Back Yoga Foundation and make a direct difference in lives for years to come. You can make a gift of cash, securities or property in your will; or name The Give Back Yoga Foundation as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy, annuity contract, or other qualified plan.   • If you wish to donate an amount other than those displayed by default, you can enter a custom amount in the text box that is preceded with the dollar symbol.

  • For donations via Stripe: You can edit your recurring donation plan via your donor account in Donorbox. To log in to your donor account, enter your donation email and the password you set to log in here. (Forgotten your password? You can reset your password here.)

    For donations via Paypal: Unfortunately, PayPal does not allow you to edit recurring donations in Donorbox. To edit your recurring donation, please log in to your PayPal account directly and make your changes there.

  • The Give Back Yoga Foundation is able to refund your donation via Donorbox within sixty days of the original transaction. If you erroneously enter a donation, contact us immediately at info@givebackyoga.org. Please allow 5-10 business days for the refund to reflect in your account. Any handling charge assessed by our payment processor may be deducted from your refund.
