Rod Stryker, founder of ParaYoga, has taught Tantra, meditation and Hatha Yoga for more than 30 years. He is one of the few Western teachers capable of articulating an authentic yoga experience –– one that has been handed down from teacher to student for literally thousands of years. Renowned for his depth of knowledge, practical wisdom and ability to transmit the deepest aspects of ancient teachings and practices to modern students, he is widely considered to be one of the preeminent teachers in the United States.
Rod began his intensive study of yoga as a teenager, serving for nearly two decades as an apprentice to internationally renowned yoga master Kavi Yogiraj Mani Finger and his son, Yogiraj Alan Finger. Eventually, Rod would become his teachers’ only American disciple to be given the title Yogiraj — master of Yoga. Rod currently studies and teaches with Pandit Rajmani Tigunai, Ph.D., spiritual head of the Himalayan Institute.
Rod is the author of The Four Desires: Creating a Life of Purpose, Happiness, Prosperity and Freedom, and a blogger for The Huffington Post. He lives with his wife and four children in Colorado.
