Remarkable work requires community support
“The work that the Give Back Yoga Foundation is doing is remarkable,” says Seane Corn, internationally celebrated yoga teacher, social activist and Advisory Board Member for the Give Back Yoga Foundation. “They are doing extraordinary work, helping different communities access yoga and skills for transformation…I’m so proud to be a part of this.”
As a co-founder of Off the Mat, Into the World™, Seane knows that nonprofits need to tap into community support if they are to keep their missions moving forward.
“As we know, raising money is really challenging, and there are an enormous amount of overheads,” she notes. “For a nonprofit to be sustainable, it really needs the support of the community.”
With this in mind, Seane has a challenge for yoga teachers worldwide: host just one donation-based class to support the Give Back Yoga Foundation as part of the nonprofit’s annual Yoga Makes Change service challenge. All funds raised help support the organization’s mission of bringing research-based yoga to underserved populations – including veterans and trauma survivors, prisoners, cancer patients and people working to overcome addiction and eating disorders.
“It doesn’t take much effort for one person,” she explains. “But the aggregated energy could really help to support these incredible projects.”
