Yoga is an obvious step for cancer patients and survivors coping with difficult treatments and ongoing side effects. In fact, doctors, the American Cancer Society and trusted healthcare professions are now recommending yoga for those in recovery and beyond. Cancer patients and survivors are hearing about the many benefits and are coming to yoga classes with high expectations about the healing potential of yoga. Their needs are different and they come with a desire to know how and why yoga will help them be healthy and stay cancer free. But not all yoga is the same. So what kind of yoga? The fact based yoga4cancer Teacher Training programs provide answers, practical skills, knowledge all based on research, to adapt any yoga professional or lineage maximizing the benefits for all cancer survivors.
yoga4cancer Training Curriculum:
Currently there are two program formats on offer for the y4c certification. Both have the same content and curriculum but enables people to choose the learning format that best suits their capabilities.
The yoga4cancer Online + Weekend Program includes 45 hours of training over approximately 8 weeks, concluding in a Weekend Intensive. It begins with 4-5 hours per week of distance learning, includes videos, readings, quizzes, webinars, assignments and more that can be done at your own page. The weekend intensive covers three days, offering a recap of learning done to date and mock class exercises and role play.
The yoga4cancer 5-day Intensive, offered in partnership with Kripalu, provides a 45-hour Yoga 4 Cancer certification on a compressed schedule of five days, or over two weekends. Students will receive a 150 page manual including new content, research and advice, access to the Online training material and support of y4c trained teachers

❖ Facts about cancer, cancer treatments and side effects
❖ Appropriate and inappropriate poses
❖ Creating a healing community and class
❖ Hands-on, supervised teaching
Graduates from either program will receive a y4c certificate; will be eligible to be listed on the y4c trained teacher register; and are eligible to apply for 45 hours of Continuing Education Credits.
The yoga4cancer teacher trainings are recommended for certified yoga teachers at the 200-hour level, from any lineage. We recommend that participants have been teaching for more than one year to get the most out of the program.
Additionally, yoga4cancer has worked with physical therapists, oncology nurses and other members of the medical profession with yoga experience. These registrants must be approved prior to the training.

Registration begins at $695 for the Intensive 5 Day Program (excluding room and board), and ranges up to $895 for the Online + Weekend program. Book the Online+Weekend program at least one month before the start of the program and get $100 OFF.
